Hello! I am new to "xtreme couponing"... that's what I have to say. I have used coupons before but mostly would not because I would forget them or loose them. At times I have been embarrassed to use them. But for $3-6 saving per lunch or dinner!? I don't mind now when I eat out 2-4 times a week. Where do I get my coupons? Well one of my sisters had a book that you buy for $10 at the grocery stores. She told me to get as many as I wanted since they would expire soon. Sure enough alot of the coupons were already expired. I started with fast food places that I was familiar like Carl's Jr. and jack in the box. I got free burgers! I also clipped coupons for restaurants that I had seen but never had visited. The deals usually go buy one get one free. Now when my friends and I go out they look to me and asked "where do you have coupons for and for what" This like I said before has saved us an average of $5 each time! With my small paycheck that's is alot. I also get them in the mail and sit and cut them. The Sunday paper has savings too! A few things I've notice about couponing or using coupons...
#1 Check the expiration date: Its a drag when you order your food or put all your items expecting your savings and the coupon is expired.
#2 Read the small print of how many deals you can use for or if its a one use coupon: Check the limits for more savings. One coupon could be good for more!
#3 Make sure you know what you are getting, Is the coupon for discount or a deal: sometimes we see a dollar sign and we expect that to be the price for the item when in smaller print its says "OFF" or "discount" or words like "with a purchase of"
#4 Present the coupon when ordering or at time of purchase along with item: The cashier should check that you have the correct deal. Once I went to eat with friends at Fridays which they had a coupon, it said Free meal with a purchase of regular priced meal and two beverages, they waited until the check came to give the coupon to the waitress... and to their surprise they didn't accepted it because they couldn't combine with other deals. They where stuck with full priced meal.
#5 keep coupons in your wallet: that makes it easier to remember that you have them.
Any tips let me know.
